Glitzy Mediterranean Mansion Lists in Los Angeles for $13 Million
A Los Angeles home known as the Crystal House because it features—you guessed it—crystals throughout the design has hit the market for $12.96 million.
Located in a guard-gated community within the Beverly Hills Post Office neighborhood, the 8,140-square-foot home combines a Mediterranean-style exterior with nearly all-white interiors. It was renovated in white and silver, with a touch of gold, and has many crystal door knobs, according to Douglas Elliman, which listed the property last week.
“The custom residence has been meticulously curated and remodeled to meet the highest of standards,” agent Tiffany Hu said in the listing. “Through a gorgeous courtyard and around a custom fountain, you are immediately greeted by expansive views.”
The home has a wrought iron main door, plus a sculptural staircase with a wrought iron railing. A gold-and-white mosaic of flowers adorns the living room wall, which is otherwise white and has a fireplace and French doors framing mountain views, listing photos show. A balcony just beyond the main living space has seating and a fire pit.
The same floral pattern—in silver and white—can also be found on the opposite wall, above the dining table.
Other sparkles include a chandelier commissioned by Hollywood-based furniture designer Christopher Guy, custom metallic tile mosaics from Bisazza in New York City and ceramic wall tiles from Porcelanosa in Spain.
A kitchen with stone countertops, Subzero, Wolf and Miele appliances and a breakfast room, as well as a family room, a movie theater and an entertainment area with a wine cellar and bar complete the main level.
Upstairs, the primary suite has a sitting area with far-reaching vistas of mountains and skyline, a fireplace and a dressing room, the listing said. There are five additional bedroom suites, plus an office.
The lower level offers a wellness space with a sauna, gym, and leisure room leading outside to the saltwater pool and spa, a built-in barbecue, two fire pits and several lounge areas. Below the pool area, there’s a terraced hillside with fruit trees and other plantings.
There’s also a three-car garage.
The home last traded for $2.5 million in 2012. The owners were not available for comment.
